We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our spiritual community.

Father Mark Kiszelewski

I was born in 1954 and grew up in a small town called Merrick New York, on Long Island. I attended Catholic grade school, the Catholic high school seminary and had one year of theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary for the diocese of Rockville Centre.

I went to work for International Paper in New York City for 2 years and then took a transfer to another division in San Jose, California. After several other changes in my job, the last one landed me in Seattle, Washington.

In 2008, I was accepted into the formation program with the Archdiocese of Seattle and did a pastoral year at St Luke's in Shoreline.  I attended Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin for my seminary years and graduated in 2013.  I was ordained in June of 2013 and assigned to St Charles Borromeo Parish in Tacoma for one year. Afterwards,   I was appointed to be the parochial vicar for St Catherine of Siena in North Seattle from 2014 to 2018. I was then assigned as pastor at St Cecilia Parish on Bainbridge Island.

As of July 1, 2024, I look forward to my new assignment as pastor of the parish family: St. Cecilia Parish, Bainbridge Island; St. Olaf Parish, Poulsbo; and St. Peter Mission, Suquamish.

You may see me around here from time to time with my dog Bishop.

Valerie Lint - Pastoral Assistant for Administration

Valerie Lint serves as the Pastoral Assistant for Administration (PAA) at St. Olaf. Since moving to the area with her family in 1984, Valerie has been deeply connected to the parish, growing up within the community and later raising her three sons here. Over the years, she has contributed her time and talents as a choir member and, since 2020, as the Usher/Hospitality team leader. Valerie’s warm smile often greets parishioners at the church doors before Mass.

Outside of work, Valerie cherishes time with her three sons and granddaughter. She enjoys crocheting, reading, unwinding with her favorite TV shows and getting out in nature.

Danielle Beer - Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation

Danielle Beer serves as the Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation at St. Olaf, where she is passionate about helping children and families grow in their relationship with Christ. A lifelong member of St. Olaf, Danielle attended Our Lady Star of the Sea through 8th grade and is excited to now serve the parish that helped form her own faith.

Danielle and her husband James are raising their four young children in the Catholic faith and are committed to fostering a strong, vibrant faith community for all families. With a heart for ministry and a deep love for the Church, she looks forward to walking alongside parents and children as they grow in faith together.

When she's not serving at the parish or with her family, Danielle also enjoys raising chickens and embracing the joys of homestead life.

Kurt Lawrence - Pastoral Assistant for Sacramental Preparation

Kurt Lawrence serves as the Administrative Assistant at St. Olaf, where he supports both Valerie Lint (PAA) and Danielle Beer (PAFF) in their ministry roles. In addition to assisting with day-to-day operations, Kurt oversees all administrative aspects of the sacraments, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly for our parish community.

Kurt brings a wealth of experience to St. Olaf, having previously served at both Holy Trinity and St. Gabriel parishes. Over the years, he has held various leadership roles, including Pastoral Assistant for Administration (PAA) and Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation (PAFF). Now semi-retired, Kurt enjoys continuing to serve the Church in a meaningful way while working part-time.

Kurt and his wife Kit live in Poulsbo and are proud parents of grown children. His steady presence and deep dedication to parish life make him a valued member of the St. Olaf team
